As Bairnsdale Production Line Theatre Company’s upcoming production of & Juliet moves closer to opening night at The Forge Theatre on Friday 1 May, the energy of the show is already beginning to shine through, with a recent photo shoot offering a first glimpse of the characters and colour audiences can expect on stage.

The shoot brought together key members of the cast in full costume, capturing the bold, playful world of & Juliet and the reimagined story at its centre.

Among them were Etienne Goessens as William Shakespeare, a familiar face to Production Line audiences after appearing in many of the company’s past productions, and Zoe Doland as Anne Hathaway, stepping into musical theatre for the first time.

Etienne said:

“I like Shakespeare’s story arc, going from a person with a massive ego, to learning that people matter more than his pride.

I am excited to play Shakespeare in a unique way, putting my own spin on how he is feeling and thinking throughout the show, learning along the way that he doesn’t know how the story goes.”

For Zoe, the experience has been a new and exciting challenge. She said:

“Coming into musical theatre for the first time has been a bit daunting, but also incredibly rewarding, Anne has such a strong voice in the story, and it’s been exciting to explore that balance of humour and honesty in rehearsals.”

The resulting images from the photoshoot reflect a production full of personality, colour and theatrical flair, hinting at the energy that continues to build as the cast brings this story to life.
