'Allo 'Allo - Auditions

​The show's premise is not to make fun of the war but to spoof war-based film and TV dramas, in particular the BBC1 drama ‘Secret Army’. Many of the elements and characters are directly taken from Secret Army, such as the café owner (René) having an affair in the restaurant under the nose of his wife (Edith), the enmity between the Gestapo and the German military, a valuable hidden painting, and a pair of British airmen trying to evade the Germans and get back to England.

René (who occasionally directly addresses the audience to explain the plot’s many twists and turns) spends the entire show trying to navigate around these and many other unlikely road-blocks, resulting in a never-ending series of farcical situations.

• First Nations artists are strongly encouraged to apply for roles in our productions.

**We acknowledge that specific roles may have character descriptions / traits that need to be met as referred to in the script. When applying for roles, please consider any casting requirements stated with each character description.

We will also be looking to cast people who can take direction, work as a team and focus during rehearsals. Theatre is about having fun and working together as a team to create something very special for our audience, but it is also a huge commitment. Please be sure you can commit to the work before applying for an audition.
