MOVIE NIGHT - 40th Anniversary
Wednesday the 16th of September at Sun Cinema Bairnsdale. Screening starts at 7pm
It’s been 40 years since the cult classic Labyrinth was released so why not put on some 80’s clothes and come watch an amazing movie but also get to mingle with some BPLTC members!
An unforgettable fantasy adventure, Labyrinth stars 14-year-old Jennifer Connelly in her breakthrough role as Sarah, a teen searching through a magical maze to rescue her baby stepbrother from The Goblin King (David Bowie).
Labyrinth was executive produced by visionary George Lucas, with the story by Jim Henson and Dennis Lee, and the screenplay by Terry Jones (Monty Python’s Flying Circus). Labyrinth was scored by Trevor Jones with several songs of original music contributed to the film and performed by David Bowie.
Labyrinth also features breath taking production design, extraordinary practical effects, and the magical artistry of hundreds of Henson puppeteers and craftspeople.
When the teenage Sarah (Jennifer Connelly) wishes for her young, crying brother to be quiet, her wish unexpectedly comes true. When she learns that he’s been taken by the Goblin King Jareth (Bowie), Sarah sets off to save her brother and follows them to a vivid fantasyland, where she only has thirteen hours to solve an enormous labyrinth and find him.
