We are seeking directors - new or experienced - for our up coming October 2026 play.
This year we are selecting one play from the following listed four.
THE 39 STEPS – A comedic thriller, very ‘loosely’ based on the book and movie of the same name. It follows Richard Hannay, an ordinary man, who becomes embroiled in a dangerous espionage plot after a mysterious woman is murdered in his apartment. Four cast members play 150 characters. Not for the faint-hearted but an exciting challenge. Adapted from the book by John Buchan, script by Patrick Barlow
COSI – Don’t let the synopsis fool you. A university graduate who is hired to direct a play at an institution for the mentally ill, Cosi is far more than you may think. A semi-autobiographical play by Australian Louis Nowra, Cosi is at times funny, heartfelt and touching.
THE ODD COUPLE – A very popular US TV program of the 1970s. A comedy that explores the mismatched friendship between two divorced men, Oscar Madison and Felix Ungar, highlighting their contrasting lifestyles and the chaos that ensues when they become roommates. Written by Neil Simon.
‘ALLO ‘ALLO – This is the stage play adaptation of the classic British sitcom by Jeremy Lloyd and David Croft. Set in a French café during World War 2, the story follows café owner Rene Artois as he navigates the challenges of German officers, The French Resistance and an assortment of ‘oddball’ characters.
